Zikhali, Thanks so much for your comment. Take some time to discover what the most deeply felt, non-spiritual need of the men in your group is. You can just make a 2 question survey and ask them about their biggest problem and biggest need. Once you do this, meet that problem and need consistently and your men’s group will see growth. Check out Matthew 4:23-25 and ask yourself, did the people come to hear Jesus preach (Spiritual need) or because he was meeting physical needs?

Thanks very much, I’ve been appointed us newly Men’s president in my church. What structures should I put in place for development.
1. Figure out the most deeply felt need the men in your church have. (You can do this via a survey saying “Q1 what’s your biggest need in life right now”, and “Q2 What is the biggest problem you are currently facing”.) 2. Once you aggregate the responses, begin attempting to meet their most deeply felt need.
People go where their needs are met, and people stay where their needs are met consistently.
Our pastor announced at church this morning “ok, all the men are going to meet in the prayer room after service. Bring your coffee.”
So we all went there.
“Right, we’re going to start a men’s fellowship, the ladies have one and so should we. Now go away and pray about it, come back next Sunday with ideas.”
We are a small church, about 30 regular members, including children. Most of the men are working, 4 retired, 2 of us never married. A mixed bunch, all in all about 12 men.
Our church is evangelical, strong commitment in sharing the gospel, feeding the hungry and caring for the poor.
